A constitutional republic provides a sound basis for individual states & localities to counter the inherent flaws of pure democracy.

The US WAS a republic when the US existed. The United States of America DOES NOT exist anymore.

The pendulum has swung against the republic in the past century, particularly in these last couple decades. The counter revolutionaries, progressives, have planted seeds deep darting back to at least 1900. But I think there is fight left in the revolution for genuine freedom laid out in our founding documents.

The current public fight over the idea that all are created equal is inherently racist is meant to cover a quiet assault on free thought. Or the current public assault on free thought could be just another in a long line of communist attracts on a system the puts the lie to their every theory of society.

I don't know. I'm just a guy trying to live. If I can do that without having to do things beyond my conscious I'll be much happier.
