lol, I remember when they used to have those "vote-a-ramas" to avoid the "fiscal cliff" scenarios that risked shutting down because of the lack of funding.

They were never really at risk of "shutting down" though. They had "essential" workers who never were going away and "non essential" workers and they were all furloughed and given back pay for not doing shit for a few weeks. Fucking paid vacations with delayed checks.
