man i installed grub bootloader when i first got this pc, windows hasnt successfully updated since. apparently windows needs access to a specific boot shit in order to update in some releases

Gates moved from software that needs constant updates to bioware that requires constant updates. If you install the vaccine on your operating system be ready for dozens of inconvenient bio updates for the rest of your life. Best of all the manufacturers instantly drop support for vaccines and will not help with troubleshooting. Any faults are your own and no accountability will be taken by the manufacturers.

The latest incident from the last update? Well, we use these little FTDI USB to serial dongles a lot. After the last update, they no longer worked on any machine in the building. Had to roll back to an older 2014 driver on each machine in order to use them again. Our initial thought was, oh shit.. FTDI bricking alleged counterfeits again...
