When my ancestors came to 'Murica they didn't speak English. Hell they didn't even speak German, they spoke East Frissian. Within 2 years they had learned the language, learned the rules of baseball, owned a farm, made their own income, and donated 30 acres of woods to be cut down to build a local church.
