That's because you're White Germans and White Germans simply don't live in squalor. I mean, you're not Romanians for God's sake. But, still if memory serves, it was the East Germans trying to get over the Berlin Wall, nobody from the West was trying to flee capitalism.

What I'm trying to tell you is that white people are not equally successful. There are plenty of white slums in Eastern Europe and it has little to do with communism or the Gypsies. But of course, Black / Latino slums are on a whole different level.
