Correct. He was a Nazarene from Galilee, and not affiliated with the Pharisees or Sadducees. There’s an often overlooked (and never discussed in churches) story about Caiaphas, who was claimed to be the high priest, questioned Jesus as messiah. When it was confirmed Caiaphas tore his priestly garments, which essentially nullified the word of God in favor of men’s laws. He disqualified himself as a priest and self imposed his own death sentence. This “official” separation from God has continued to this day.
