Isn't immigrating to those countries extremely difficult? Don't their governments have laws in place as to who can become a citizen, and aren't those laws actually enforced?

It's harder because these countries mostly homogeneous and people there speak certain language. If you look like latinos and speak spanish, I doubt that you would face any problems of dissolving among population of some South America country.

It's hard for typical blond light skinned Caucasian without any language knowledge to assimilate in china without drawing attention to his persona just by the way he looks.
