Whatever. The Republicans were then, as now, bought and paid for by Yankee industrial interests, which also heavily funded the Abolitionist movement and especially people like John Brown, in order to undermine the free labor being utilized in the South.

Segregation should be forced segregation. I'm all for everybody segregating themselves to be around people they want to be around, but the State should not be forcing it or integration.

Segregation is a bad idea, I'm for separation, let them and us have their own countries, it might mean breaking up the union, but it would preserve the American way, one white nation, however small, and the rest of the races can have their own lands, however large.
