too prolific, something more sinister is going on here. in old mystery cults where they had sex rituals once a month or so it wasn't that uncommon for adherents to bring their children in, and some children would even stay permanently in the temple as sex slaves or 'priests'. much of the time this was gay sex, often it was dressing boys up as girls in some weird linkage to an androgynous god who they 'communed' with via sex. really it was just an excuse for homosexuals to fuck little boys. the girls were usually the usual pubsecent age of 14+ because that's what most men want, unlike homos who prefer little boys. they would also commonly attract powerful people into their cult too, no doubt very similar to sex entrapment today, enticing them with their collected sex slaves or 'discovering the mystery', then holding the threat, spoken or unspoken, over them that the regular people might found out that he's actually a faggot or a total weirdo sex freak who fizzes out on drink and drugs and has orgies like some common whore. at no point was the common person comfortable with these people or these cults, the commoners always had some sense of morality and would've been repulsed to find out what was going on, which is why the 'mysteries' are always kept hidden.
