There were a lot of people around us that got the govt cheese and rice and stuff and didn’t want it. Mom took all of it, the cheese is just no name velveeta and we always had the best Mac n cheese, courtesy of the retards that didn’t want the free food they were given.

Anyone know WHAT the flavor of that cheese was? My grand parents qualified for that program back in the 1970's because they were living on pensions. Best damn cheese taste I had. I have asked this question on other forums, most people say "normal velvetta block cheese" is it. It's close, but Velvetta is not it. Anyone know the closest brand/kind of cheese that tasted like that back in the old days?
