It really helps to be more cynical. Modern society beats the cynicism out of people. You are taught from a very young age to trust authority figures "because they are in charge" and to collaborate and work with others in all things. This is the female energy that has taken over society. Things definitely work better when you assume people are fundamentally acting based on their own self-interest and personal desires. Stop being a chump and letting people take advantage of you.
