While I mostly agree, my parents bought a large block and built a house 30 years ago for $20,000. Me? A block half that size, a reasonable three bedroom house with only the most basic fixtures and "required" bullshit for the roof and outside to make the entire neighborhood looks the same, more than $400,000. It's not all about greedy motherfuckers wanting more than they can pay for. There has been a ridiculous increase in the cost of living - and starting a family. It's fucking hard.
