Some lumber poaler claimed the price increase is due to lumber mills using the rona as an excuse to operate under capacity to drive up demand. I have no idea if this is true or when it will end but, I'd maybe try to wait. If you need to finish a project, that sucks and I feel for ya. If you have the time, good trees and don't need pressure treated/engineered lumber... it might be worth it at this point to buy one of those gas powered mills and do it yourself.
The fires started everywhere last year destroyed enough lumber in Oregon to build over a million homes. That's the latest I read, in addition to other issues. It's not getting better any time soon.
Exactly what someone who owns a lumber-mill would say. ;)
Well shit, I wish. I'm just trying to buy a new home in Idaho and if I wait until next year the prices will be even higher, but I have to wait
Could be all the plywood used to board up windows for peaceful protests :)
