You're correct, though I guess it would technically just be "possum" and not "Australian possum" as the possum is a native Australian species while the species native to the Americas that many would be familiar with is Opossum (Virginia Opossum). They are both marsupials, but like White humans and niggers being different species of hominin, they too have different physical, behavioral, and most especially genetic characteristics due to being different species - e.g. physical characteristics of the Virginia Opossum are having an elongated body and snout (muzzle?), being larger in size, having many razor sharp teeth, coarser hair, and are whiter in appearance.
