I was reading about Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) a while ago. Apparently she divorced her only husband after a few years and remained single for the rest of her life. She died last year after she didn't have money for her medical treatment and had to rely on fan donations. I wonder how many modern women are going to end up that way.

I don't know about her situation, but usually Medicaid will take care of the indigent.

I don't think she was hurting that much and I doubt it would have helped keep her around if she had a lot of money. It's just sad that she was basically alone at the end.
