Point well taken. What’s the strategy for moderating behavior or disingenuous tactics?
I have a list of tactics laying around you just need to train mods and users to recognize tactics: consensus cracking, concern trolling, sliding, raiding, gas lighting, just to name a few, reading intent is a skill you can hone but bans should be mod vote based.
Most of these tricks go back to saul alinsky's writings.
And the trouble, of course, is that depending on the observer, any of those things could be taken as authentic discourse. Hence, it's subjective. The list you have given, if applied on the basis of some 'objective' grounds, is just a way to create a complete echo chamber, which is what people tend to do.
Wrong, these techniques are quite obvious, all you would need to do is just keep the list handy on the site for all users at all times, yes persuasion and rhetoric can employ similar techniques but their are illicit deceptive maneuvers at work in most forms of manipulation and teaching people how to look for these seams in a mask is how e stop it.
