Nurses are retards. It's a low skill job for idiots. The worst thing about nurses is how much self-congratulations they give. "Our job is so hard, we do 80% of what doctors do but get 20% of the pay" If that's true than you're fucking stupid for hanging around. It's not true, however. Try to talk to a nurse about basic biology that she doesn't deal with on a daily basis and she'll be completely lost.
I tried to talk my mom (RN) out of getting “the jab”.
“So why aren’t people getting the flu anymore?” “Well, because everyone is wearing masks.” “Then why are they getting Covid?” “Because people aren’t wearing their masks.” “You realize that’s a complete contradiction?” “Well, as a professional in the medical field...”
There are no words to pierce that level of indoctrination and arrogance. Boomers with degrees cannot be reasoned with; their whole identity is that they were the first to leave the farm or whatever and get a degree and become cosmopolitan.
Yeah. Sounds a lot like my mom. My dad is significantly more reasonable, but basically can't be bothered anymore. He was really good at playing interference with her shenanigans when I was younger though,
Yeah, she wore him down. The all do it. Next he’ll die. Sorry, it’s the way it goes.
If I could just stand up for your mom a little bit...
How a virus spreads is basically a physics problem at the microscopic level.
Virus groups are physically different from each other: they are different sizes, they thrive at different temperatures, inhabit different parts of the body, different ability to enter a cell and so on.
Maybe the most important difference with covid is that, because it replicates very rapidly compared to flu, there are thousands or even millions of times more virus in your nose and thoat by the time you get symptoms with covid, vs flu. That means you are spewing thousands of times more virus in the air compared to flu.
Most people believe catching a virus is binary: you get a single virion in your nose and you are sick. Its not true. Inhaling low amounts of virus may result in no infection or an asymptomatic infection. Inhaling medium amounts of virus may result in a mild infection and inhaling high amounts of virus will result in severe infections.
The covid quarantine measures may have been effective at preventing the number of flu cases and / or the severity of flu cases. People definitely changed their behavior. It wasn’t necessarily the masks though.
If you want to make a solid case to your mom about the vaccine, send her to the openvaers.com site and have her read some of the adverse events listed there for say, people under 50 resulting in death.
Lots of people having severe reactions and dying of prophylaxis and acute autoimmune syndromes. Females under 50 have a much greater chance of contracting an autoimmune disease from this vaccine than from dying of covid.
Low dose ivermectin as prophylaxis will work as well as the vaccine ( proven in studies by boomers with degrees) and ivermectin has never killed a person in 50 years. And you can buy it on amazon for $6 without a script.
I get that one virus can be more infectious than another, but not so much so that one whole class of very infectious and common viruses can be completely eradicated (zero cases) and another still spreading like wildfire.
My dad is the same.
Why is there no flu?
Because the lockdown is working so well
Then why are wuflu cases on the rise
Because people are ignoring the lockdown
Then why aren't they spreading the flu?
It's not his fault, he lives in a world where it's important to trust professionals and listen to their advice. In fact if he didn't he probably wouldn't be able to do his job. The idea that a whole country could be in the sway of institutional groupthink (let alone foreign propaganda) is beyond him.
Fuck boomers.
Your comment is spot on. I worked in a nursing home for years and the truth is that CNAs did all of the hard labor. Nurses were only summoned when there was a large enough problem (basically if someone needed a treatment, started to code, or was found dead). Most of the time, the nurses just sat at the desk, interfaced with patient visitors (not without complaint - they hate dealing with guests), and passed meds twice a night. Listening to them all bitch about how they do more, or know more than doctors all the time while they sat on their collective asses most of the day was sickening.
Also, I am not surprised that most nurses can't follow basic biology that they do not cover at work. Most nurses will tell you that they learn more while on the job than in college, and will readily admit that what they are taught to do in college, and what actually happens in the field are two very different things. Anecdotally, I am not certain if you've ever looked at the nursing school entrance exam, but no joke, there are more botany and earth space science questions than there are questions concerning the human anatomy. I am not certain how much worse it gets beyond the entrance exam though, as I decided not to pursue the field (I realized that I care more about myself and my family to subject myself to the occupational hazard for such low pay).
I had a friend who worked in a nursing home and told me horror stories about how poorly the 'inmates' as they were called were treated. Can't imagine shipping your parents off to one unless you're completely ignorant or just fucking hate them.
Not my field, but I think it depends on the nurse. Like some of them literally just change bandages and make sure junkies don't empty the medicine cabinet, others are responsible for high stakes protocol where someone could die if they fuck up.
Ok you're correct, I over-generalized. But a large fraction of nurses i've met are very simple thinkers, with limited capacity of abstraction, and they overestimate their cognitive powers/knowledge. Some years back my dad got hurt pretty bad and had to stay in the hospital for weeks. I flew out to see him and had to deal with docs / nurses day in and day out. Now I hate them. Also, they might really be better where you're from.
Oh they're not, especially doctors. Doctors are the opposite problem: Somewhat high IQ but egos so inflated they think they're gods.
Men have two options when they pick a mate. They can go for midwits with nursing degrees who will probably be more willing to focus on starting families and and taking a more submissive role. Or guys can go for the hi IQ females who are going to be more controlling and prioritize their career more. Hi IQ females generally know they have more options and can afford to be choosier. Or at least they think they can.
Maybe. That might describe a sizeable fraction but certainly not all. I will say that midwits are pretty easy. It's surprising how content you can feel with a not-so-bright girl.
