So damn true. Was looking for a bit of background noise to listen to while working on a project, and saw some vid on an old n64 game I enjoyed as a kid. One of the current big anime airing is called "Redo of Healer." A lot of the anime reviewers lost their shit & bitched out over it. Because its a revenge anime where the main male character is abused in multiple ways including sexually and his revenge includes sexually abusing one of the women who tormented him.
It went from funny to just sad how many of the man-children who watched the uncensored version acted like complete little bitches about the plot.

I guarantee you that anyone who uses that phrase unironically has nothing but a surface understanding of Hegel.
The whole "thesis, antithesis, synthesis" thing is usually the only bit these jackasses use, because it's the only thing that even begins to make sense from Hegel, and even then it's dicey and pretty deep in the postmodern movement (as in actual philosophical postmodernism, which is the root of what we generically call "postmodernism" but is at this point actually rather old).
Nobody reads Phenomenology of the Spirit and says "oh yeah, that made sense and is applicable to pop culture" and means it.
