Great take on this. In the end both sides support the corporations. There's not a lot of talk about the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1970, but it was an incredibly destructive act. Before this congress was closed door. Congress owned legislation as a whole because individual votes were not recorded. This legislation opened the congress to the public and began recording their votes. It was sold on the premise that the public would know how their representative voted. The real result was that individuals in the congress were made more accountable to the lobbyists, not to the public. Here's a couple of quick and easy links.
