Agent smith is an analogy for psychopaths!
They have no empathy.
They attack in a predictable way as a mob.
They hate all humans.
They keep the illusion intact for the sheeple.
Anyone not being controlled is hunted down.
They look human but are not.
They keep humanity enslaved.
They have no individuality.
Once their tactics are defeated they can't do anything else other than repeat the same.
They are evil.
They are empowered by the control matrix. It's their world.
They are incapable of love. They only hate.
They are ruthless.
They are everywhere.
They understand the real nature of the matrix.
They must be destroyed for humans to be free.
Neo destroys his first agent by getting inside him and seeing with his eyes. Something the agent can't do and it destroys him.
Once you can defeat one no number of agents can defeat you.
They are full of rage.
The npc label doesn't help you get to this point. You need to understand that they are psychopaths with no ability to self reflect and that's their ultimate weakness.
Agreed on all points, but especially 'lack of self reflection'
We often say "you cannot reason with these people" and suspect they reject the notions but cannot fathom why. I suspect the truth is more akin to what you have stated, in the scenario I described, the speaker thinks he sees poor logic and tries to assist with argument. He fails to acknowledge this person cannot be assisted and does not desire it. There will never be anything said or proven or demonstrated what will change their inability to reflect on their own convictions once external influence has been internalized. Their cause no longer matters, only the fight itself, this is insanity.
Therein, lies the rub, imho.
The difference being that if you told me something, or I told you, both would reflect on their own beliefs, question them, call the whole brain into the interrogation room and get all the stories straight. Not everyone does this. I believe it is essential to mental health.
