Maybe I'm just jaded, but I smell a rat. Nice precious metal you got there, citizen. Here's this new law compelling you to turn it over for these totally legit government securities. (Just spitballing)

"The proposed Missouri law also includes provisions authorizing the state to invest in gold or silver “greater than or equal to one percent of all state funds” and to expressly bar any state agency, department, or political subdivision from seizing gold or silver bullion" Missouri seems to be addressing your concern here.

I'm hopeful that this is the first (public) step towards ending fiat currency and abolishing the fed as it stands now.

Fun fact: No taxes on buying gold in Germany, but taxes on buying silver.
