My thoughts exactly when I first saw that story. It reads like a lame fairy tale, something sounds off at pretty much every turn, as you noticed
my guess: "Friends and family" are using him as a medium for insider trading. someone knew something and piled money into this kids account and told him what to do.
i mean this shit isn't even believable. anyone smart enough to amass $20mil+ is not stupid enough to yolo it on BBBY stock when their financials are complete shit and the environment is not favorable.
i thought i was gonna read how this kid bought far OTM call options with like $5/10/15k. While super risky it would at least make more sense. nothing about this story passes the smell test.
