I know it looks bad in the Tenderloin but I’m in the Bay Area right now and it’s worse in the high end restaurants and hotels. These rich people are the most shallow people I’ve ever sat near. Their conversations are blasé (“Oh I like her, she’s nice!”) and they have no light in their eyes. Also, just so everyone knows, they aren’t wearing masks. It’s like Covid just evaporated one day (I know, Covid isn’t a thing, but they locked us down because of it and now they are acting like it was some dream they had). Fucking posers. Also I haven’t heard one conversation about money/stocks, which either means they aren’t watching their investments, they think investing will bounce back any day, or they are scared shitless and pretending to enjoy themselves. Anyway, just me spying on the other half.

Or they were smart and have been shorting the market.

Another thing to consider is the performance of dividend stocks. If you're getting income from dividends the actual value of the stock doesn't mean much as the dividend payouts haven't changed. Yet at least.
