I still don't know why they didn't start selling PC parts like microcenter.

They kind of did right there at the end, but their prices were Radio Shack high, while Micro Center sells their house brand arduino-clones for $6-10. They didn't have the house brand supply lines like they used to, so putting anything in stock required they sell it at retail.

I don't recall them selling stuff like that. I know they tried to turn into a phone store, and pretty much banked on that and didn't look at much else.
