Even with inflation, that house would be about $28k.

The materials for a house that size, if built cheaply, are roughly that much.

Note that you have to "assemble" this house yourself. Few people these days are capable of doing that. (Never mind all the permits you have to try and get.)

Edit: Note that houses, back in the day, didn't have insulation nor did they have interior walls installed.

What do you get for 28k? Plans and lumber? That would make sense

Do you get shingles, windows, flooring? Now that would be nuts. Windows alone would be 30k.

I used to live in a similar house except there was a basement and the entire basement was laid out in brick. I wish I had pictures of it. But yeah. Affordable housing? Kikes said we can't have that shit.
