He made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be[come] sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. Jesus took your sin. He paid for every sin you ever have or will done. Jesus is the end of [following] the law for righteousness to all who believe. I don't know what is the best church for you, but even a Calvinist (they won't put that in the name, but it's a major part of their doctrine) wouldn't be terrible at first for how closely they stick to the Bible.
