The term zhidovstvuyushchiye (Russian: жидовствующие), as it is known in the sources, is derived from the Russian word жид (zhid, from Judea, an older Russian term for Jew which is now considered pejorative).[7] Zhidovstvuyuschiye may be loosely translated as "those who follow Jewish traditions" or "those who think like Jews".

The entire book of Galatians in AD 48 had the Apostle Paul talking about those “false brother” infiltrators sent by the Pharisees/Rabbis to bring Christians under demonic Pharisaical/Rabbinical authority of “traditions of men,” meaning the Pharisees/Rabbis would dictate the definition of righteousness, a false one, usurping the authority of Christ and His Apostles.
