This would be literal. Which I believe it to be. Which does make sense. Their synagogues are tabernacles

I just want sure if “tabernacle” referred to the tent of meeting or not. I know the O.T is replete with examples of the Israelites worshiping every god under the sun, and putting up Asherah poles in the most holy place, etc.
