Okay, here's some little known law for you:

You do not have to pay what a restaurant bills you. Nope. You do not. When you sit down at a restaurant and order food there is no express contract between you and the restaurant to pay what they charge. There may (in some cases) be an implied contract, but that's a big snarl of legal shit to figure out. Not likely a restaurant would chase you for that one.

If you get hit with a service fee, or any fee not shown on their menus or signage in clear print, you can tell them to fuck right off with that shit.

Carry cash. Always carry some cash. And when you need to, short the bill accordingly. The restaurant might get pissy, and you probably shouldn't go back there. But why would you anyway? Fuck 'em.

Mandatory tips? No. "Living wages"? No. I always deduct that shit from whatever tip I was going to leave. Every time. Sometimes I even write notes on the bill about it.

Let them burn.

Its not my restaurant, and I won't subsidize his fucking labor costs. I'll tip how I choose, when I choose.

If he thinks they're underpaid, then he can pay them more from his own revenue.

I'm not renting his fucking staff, and his staff knows this. So it's his problem, not his customers.

If it really is disclosed in a conspicuous manor then it's the patrons fault. If it's not disclosed or is inconspicuous then I think you could make a real case about it. Regardless, fuck them and more call outs like this need to happen.

I'm in Miami this week and got hit with the mandatory "tip" too. Yea, everything was good, right until I got the bill. At least they didn't also add the "kitchen appreciation" fee.

This may explain why the restaurant wasn't full.

Thinking America has some top restaurant, because it was proclaimed so, by Food and Wine Magazine, in 2025.

I am certain, the food they serve is quite good.

I am also certain 'Soul Food' served on the West Coast is more about pretension than substance.

And even after that, I am certain that Zerohedge farms clickbait from pretentious food and beverage magazines, in the hopes of riling up retards like us, because it is always enticing click bait.
