> California is advancing a plan to replace the state gas tax with a mileage-based road charge that taxes drivers by distance traveled. The effort is led by the California State Transportation Agency and Caltrans under a multi-year Road Charge program first authorized by SB 1077 in 2014 and extended and refined by SB 339 in 2021. The state’s stated purpose is to stabilize road funding as fuel-tax revenue declines.

I'd put money on the gas tax not being ended.

Yeah I bet there will be an “interm period where both are done” then it’s never removed.

Only fucking idiots live in that state.

More Californians will be fleeing to my state, which they will then ruin by continuing to vote Democrat...

Yeah. Mine too. But what’s the solution that’s not a final one?

Reallocate efforts from the Southern border and build a wall around California. Checkpoints to get out, every commercial driver checked to make sure they can read and write English (hell everyone should be checked). Isolate the fuckers. Anything going into California gets dropped at their border and then those fuckers can pick it up and pay by the mile to get it to the Coastal cities. These cunts are relying on taxing out of State drivers more knowing that they probably fuel up just before entering the State, drop a load pick up another and then leave without buying fuel in their shit hole State.
