The "n" in nigger is only capitalized because it was the first word in a sentence.

I struggle with this all the time, here. Starting sentences with 'jews,' 'niggers,' 'israel,' etc. and not capitalizing the first letter makes me cringe.

It is a bit of a problem but I refuse to abandon my White approved style-sheets for capitalization because my sentence starts with a (fill in the blank).
