There's a saying and it goes something like 'Everybody looks through their own eyes out of their own skull'. It's an art form to go beyond that and try to put yourself into other people's head space. Takes some practice, maturity and intelligence. It's necessary either way. I used to be so sure of myself and others and how the world was supposed to be working according to me. Some decades later, I've seen weakness in good people. Seen dishonesty in supposed role models. And I've seen all of the above in myself on occasion. To lose someone you love in such a senseless act, just because they had no mental defenses against an aggressive pervert on an internet platform open to virtually anyone... There's no way for me to convey in words what I would enjoy to do to the person responsible. I found if you stare into the abyss for too long, it's not staring back at you. I found you become the abyss.
