I really wonder how many times this will have to happen before women start to notice a pattern.
I've worked in IT with women programmers and can say from experience they don't really have knack for noticing patterns. One of the company's 'Lead Developers' spent two days trying to figure out a bug before asking me for help. In 20 seconds I found the problem was in her data set (which she had not checked) and the stored procedure had to be modified. In less than 3 minutes I resolved a problem she had spent 16+ hours on.
Edit: I should mention that I had not been involved in the project previously, rather this was my first look at it.
