I have no sympathy for anyone who tries to stop a shoplifter. FUCKING LET THEM. They aren't stealing from you.
It's the shopping cart theory of high trust and low trust societies. In a high trust society the people always take their shopping carts back to the corral, like where I live, but in a low trust society people just leave the carts all over the parking lot. Like the last time I was in SoCal.
Standards must be maintained if you want a functional society and petty theft is one of those things that you can not allow unless you want to turn into Zimbabwe.
The boomer was right in this case and Walfart should change their policies.
Sure it's messed up, but that's the policy in pretty much every big retail chain. I'm actually surprised he didn't expect to be fired for it.
