I wouldn't considerate appropriate for a 16 year old looking for their first job it's just weird

My dad introduced me to the construction foreman at 16. Job was prearranged by them, $15 an hour cash working in the summer sun. Terms were I kept up. Been kicking ass and taking names since. That's different though, my dad wanted to harden me and that guy got a favor and cheap labor.

It may be the parent is making sure the youf shows up so they paycheck can attribute to duh hows hoed of dey billz.

Even when I've applied for jobs where family already worked, it was understood you had to get employed on your own merit. We don't even put each other down on the application for reference.

A friends father was the head of a department in College. A little over 10 years ago he retired and we were talking about "helicopter parents".

He was saying its worse than it has ever been (and this was over 10 years ago) he said that in his department they now call them "Velcro parents" because they are stuck to their kids like Velcro.

Interpersonal skills are no longer taught - the tv and like media are the parents, and these critical soft-skills are not required to watch videos all day. This was all by design.
