It will be here soon
Yes, coming to a country very near you soon.
So this "speed limiting" technology is really GeoFencing to eventually prevent you from traveling outside your designated perimeter. Since they limit your speed, the lowest limit is 0 MPH. You can count on the technology to limit travel. The safety aspect is always the ruse to force compliance. After all, who doesn't want to be safe?
I'm watching the auto industry very closely to determine when I need to buy another vehicle. I want to avoid EVs, hybrids, speed limiting, inside cameras and any other oligarch technology to coerce people.
Isn't the government running out of things in our lives they can assert control over?
Absolutely not!

I own only two relatively new vehicles (2008 and 2016).
The other vehicles are all 1970s all in order to avoid emissions restrictions in commiefornia. In the market currently for a “new” old muscle car. Anything pre 1976. Must have factory a/c and a lot going on under the hood. Turnkey. Will be my new daily driver.
The worst part is that the E.U. is already drawing up plans to outlaw cars 10 years or older. I hate these fuckers so much.
They're not trying to win a popularity contest: they're taking over society. The best action is to not comply. The criminals understand they win the war by incrementally taking your freedoms away, not by doing that too fast. They can't control a population if it revolts.
We already have governors. They shut off the fuel supply at approximately 108-110 mph. These can be bypassed, lol.
EASILY I might add. Sometimes people who buy high performance tires the installer will whip out the programmer to "match the max speed to the tire rated top speed". These limiters will likely be easy to override/remove/disable whatever.
