The sad path forward for this is that they’ll grandfather in existing businesses, getting their support, which will be used to shove it through. Only a fraction of those will actually be grandfathered due to complex and contradictory legal wording. At the end of the day, a few places will retain the ability, and the rest will fail. The few will make tons of money, and be extra good friends with those that made them more rich. And the people will lose. We always lose.
