well if any of that is even remotely true we stand less than 0 chance. if a civilization can travel the stars they could fuck us up in ways beyond our comprehension and wouldn't travel here just to blow us up. on the crazy sci-fi end rather than destroy us for no reason, why not create a hybridized race and essentially rule the planet from the shadows and rape us and the planet for resources.
