That is a list of mostly completely useless people for furthering the human race in space.

Of course the assignment is not to actually pick a functional team so pick the worst choices and you'll get an A.

So probably exclude the police officer, clergyman, accountant with substance abuse, and either the novelist or the pregnant wife.
