A man-lift, scissor-lift or bucket truck...are just as insane an idea. Who would think that this ladder setup is dangerous but decide that being lifted by a boom with a small bucket you stand in is any better? All of these implements are inherently unsafe but we just give some of them a pass because a machine is involved. It's like the people who drive like maniacs because they feel safe inside their Escalades. Driving is still dangerous but they don't feel it now.
