The correct thing to do is when they are found, shut the lid and lock them in. Loosen the roof carrier and then get on the highway and accelerate slowly so the carrier doesn't fall off yet. Once at maximum speed, slam on the brakes and send that carrier flying into traffic. Either that or drive to a bridge, then stop in the middle, throw the carrier off of the bridge.
