If it were healthy to eat bugs, don't these people think human beings would have been eating them for the past hundred thousand years? Apart from a few exceptions in Africa (locusts, honey ants, etc.) human beings have not eaten bugs. There's a reason for this, even if it is not immediately obvious. Bugs are not a good source of food for humans.

Bugs are a very good vector for parasites.

When I see a bug, or a mealworm, I don't immediately think "wow, that's delicious. I want a bite of that." More likely you're disgusted at seeing bugs or worms or crickets. Disgust mechanism is there to keep us alive and has evolved over many millions of years.
