How can you say that exposure to lead isn't linked to Alzheimers? Especially when this entire thread is about how the commonly accepted theory of Alzheimers is wrong. There is pretty strong evidence that exposure to lead causes irreversible brain damage and makes kids dumber.
The previous comment referred to the "demonization of lead", which implies that governments went overboard banning lead. My intent was just to make the counterpoint that lead is pretty bad and widescale bans are perhaps justified. Even though I agree working with lead in solid form isn't especially dangerous.
Not saying we haven't benefited from replacing some lead uses...
