I live in a part of the country where almost all boys are circumcised. The doctor who visited us was relieved when we told her we weren’t circumcising our son. She had clearly been holding back because she started going on and on about how awful it was.
The story she told me that made me mad was that when she was a younger doctor, the hospital she was at would take all the boys for the day and line them up and see how fast they could do the circumcisions
The doctor who trained her actually taught her how to use an anesthetic. (Don’t know why that isn’t standard, but hey, I don’t write the evil rules). So she always had much happier babies. Thus, the nurses always waited for her and recommended her for circumcisions, which she hated performing. Nowadays, she doesn’t have to do them at all, which she prefers, but it isn’t like she’s stopping them either.
That’s the issue with doctors. They just keep their mouths shut and follow orders. If they ordered her to cut the entire penis off, she’d probably only hesitate a little longer than the sadists normally running the slicer before doing it.
IT IS UP TO YOU to protect your children. Doctors, even good ones aren’t your friend.
It's so bizarre. A mostly Christian country that circumcises their children. How does this happen? The Bible is fairly explicit about circumcision and how unnecessary it is. I also particularly hate this conflation between circumcision and 'health care'. It isn't health care, if anything it is a form of control and barbarism from a desert blood letting cult. If you are Jewish, then fine. Have at it. For everyone else. What the Hell are they thinking?
100% agree it's a travesty and a cruel jew trick.
Same, my first son was born in the hospital and the doctor was relieved not to do the circumcision. Had the second one at home and the midwife ever even mentioned it.
The way it is around here is that the younger doctors have high student loans and very short contracts of 4-6 months. You don't do as you are told, or you make too much of a fuss, you won't get rehired. Why the senior doctors put up with this though is a mystery to me.
