Correct, the whole "oil is made up of dead dinosaurs" is bs. Ever wonder why most oil is found in the ocean?

petroleum is formed when large quantities of dead organisms, mostly zooplankton and algae

Even today, this proccess still continues, albeit somewhat slowly.
