Even before the pandemic I would have taken issue with my company mandating 5 days in office every week. "Flexible work environment" has been an official perk of many jobs for a long time. Before the pandemic I worked from home one or two days a week. I suspect that for GS they had a similar policy before the pandemic and the workers are complaining that this is not a 'return to normal' but actually a removal of official job perks.
