They love freedom when it lets them do what they want, but hate it when it lets others do what they don't want them to do. They don't give a shit about freedom, they just use it as a tool when it suits their twisted goals, I all other times, they absolutely hate it, because their twisted goals involve seizing absolute control over every detail of the lives of others (and using that power to destroy the people they have power over), and freedom is antithetical to that set of objectives.
