I don’t agree with them damaging other people’s property, but you don’t need an SUV in a city, especially a European city. They are way too big, take up too much space on roads and when parking and it always seems to be women driving them. They’re known as Chelsea tractors in London (or D4 tractors in Dublin), and I think they should be punitively taxed if they have back seats installed (people who actually need them for off road driving never have back seats and they should have their tax reduced, which could be easily done if we offset their reductions against the yummy mummies’ increases who you know are going to take your wing mirror off trying to park it when they struggle to park a fiesta).
They pay extra tax for the privilege. Thank you for your stand-up comedy routine about people with more money than yourself. SHAAAAAAAAAAAAME
How do they have more money than me? SUVs aren’t expensive, they’re just unnecessary for women who will likely never even drive beyond the boundaries of London/Dublin/Glasgow. And of course they should pay more tax - they take up more space on public roads funded by motorists, so they should be charged significantly more than people who take up significantly less space.
Shitloads taxes on gas, taxes on the class/type of wehicle you drive, insurance is highter.
So yeah they alrady pay for the roads they use, they carbon they emit and the luxuary tax.
