depending on where this happened, the parents could definitely have knowingly signed off on this. but its also possible with the way that schools are starting to go behind parents back that the permission slip was to something completely benign, like a zoo or aquarium.

They probably called it a "Cultural Exposition Center" or something of the sort.

Exactly , or they listed a history museum and a note the destination can be changed at the directive of the school in case of whatever..... the school whatevered.
