The girl quoted is not Catholic. Anyone who spent any time in a Catholic school would know how goofy that line is.
Out of interest, why is that?
Paul wrote 'epistles' (letters to early Christian groups) not gospels. There are also thousands of Saints (people who lived lives of heroic virtue), referring to the gospels as books by some other Saint, is not something a person trained in the faith would say. Especially since the title of 'Saint' is usually omitted when referring to the book. E. G. You say 'the Gospel according to Mark', not 'The gospel according to Saint Mark'.
Ah, thanks, I've seen the phrase "the gospel according to Saint Paul", but maybe that was by non Catholics?
Paul seemed to be some kind of proto-Catholic, so I just assumed he'd be the go-to saint for them?
Paul was more or less contemporary with the Gospel era, so it's not incorrect to include his writings with them. It's just clunky terminology that somebody associated with the church probably wouldn't use. The Epistles provide really valuable insight into the Gospels and especially how early Christian communities tried to live them out.
